Post Sports Massage Care Advice
Thank you for choosing Active release therapy!
To help you feel your best and get the most out of your treatment, here are a few simple tips to follow after your session. These will help your body recover, stay comfortable, and keep those benefits lasting longer.
1. Stay Hydrated-After your massage, your body will need plenty of water to flush out toxins and support recovery. Keep a bottle handy and sip throughout the day.Try to avoid too much caffeine or alcohol for the next 24 hours, as they can dehydrate you and slow things down.
2. Take It Easy-Your body needs a little time to process the treatment, so try to avoid any heavy exercise or intense activity for at least 24 hours.Gentle movement, like a relaxing walk or light stretching, is perfect to keep things feeling loose and comfortable.
3. Soothe Any SorenessIt’s completely normal to feel a little tender or sore after a massage, especially if we worked on tight areas. If needed, a cold compress can help with any inflammation, while a warm compress is great for easing muscle tension.
4. Freshen Up-If we used oils or creams during your massage, you might want to shower afterwards to refresh your skin and avoid irritation.Be sure to pop any used towels or clothes in the wash too – staying clean keeps things feeling great!
5. Follow My AdviceEvery body is different, so if we discussed any specific stretches or self-care tips for you, be sure to give them a try. They’ll help maintain flexibility and keep you moving comfortably until your next session.
6. Avoid Extreme Heat-It’s best to skip hot baths, saunas, or steam rooms for the next 24 hours. Your body’s already working hard, and adding extra heat might feel too intense right now.
7. Nourish Yourself-Eat a healthy meal and focus on foods that support muscle recovery, like lean protein, leafy greens, and plenty of vitamins. Don’t forget to rest – relaxation is part of the process too!
